I gifted Mobilegs, supposedly the best crutches, to my brother so he’d have the best recovery journey. Here’s why and his review of them.
My brother unfortunately got into a bad accident recently. In short, he was crossing the street on a rainy day and a car hit him after driving too fast in the rain slipped and collided into him.
This broke my heart and I wanted to take the next plane to help him out, but living across the pond from him (in the Netherlands) with a toddler, I couldn’t just drop everything and go. Why I Thought These Were the Best Crutches to Gift Him (vs Forearm Crutches)
Once I heard about Mobilegs, I did thorough research on whether they would be the best option for him or not.
(1) Mobilegs’ own website boasts that it has flexible saddle cushions under your armpits that protect you from pain and nerve damage.
Because of my fibromyalgia, I’ve had nerve pain and chronic muscle tension daily in my feet, legs, shoulders and part of my face for over 13+ years so I wanted to make sure that long-term use of regular crutches wouldn’t add pain to other parts of his body.
(2) Again, out of the 9 points that Mobilegs’ shared on its listing, another one that stood out was the “ergonomically designed handgrip for…less hand and wrist strain, less pressure on nerves”.
I’ve often experienced that a lack of use in one body part can lead to strains on other parts so I wanted to protect him long-term.
(3) Lastly, after finding @slimgini on Instagram, I was sold on these.
Besides noting how ergonomic and light these crutches are, she mentioned that she liked these crutches over forearm crutches because leaning on them with her armpits would still allow free use of her hands. She’s tried several crutches and these are her favorite.
Thus, it seemed like these were the best types of crutches since my brother would have the freedom to use his hands.

First Impressions
Right out of the box, Mobilegs Ultra Crutches stood out against his traditional, clunky pair of crutches given to him from the hospital.
With their sleek design and modern aesthetics, they clearly looked like they had been thoughtfully engineered into an innovative mobility aid.
The build quality felt solid and the materials used seemed durable and high-quality.

After testing them out for a week, my brother called me to share what he liked, and of course, what he didn’t like about them.
Ergonomic Saddle
One of the standout features of Mobilegs Ultra is the articulated saddle design. Unlike traditional crutches that have underarm pads and can cause under underarm discomfort, these crutches have a pivoting saddle that moves with the user’s body.
He noted that this design reduced made a significant difference in comfort, especially with prolonged use. They also allow him to freely move in any direction whereas with the traditional crutches, you have to more so commit to the direction you’re already heading in.
Adjustability of Both Height and Arm Length
The Mobilegs Ultra Crutches are fully adjustable accommodating users from 4’9″ to 6’4″ an d up to 300 lbs. You can adjust both the height and arm length easily thanks to the intuitive design.
My brother found the crutches easy to adjust to his height ensuring a comfortable fit.

Learning Curve
