For every person I’ve chatted with in the past week since getting my cordless Dyson Cyclone V10, our conversation has gone something like this:
Friend: “Hey Sarah. What’s new?”
Me: “I just got a new Dyson Cyclone V10. It’s cordless and amazing. I’ve been vacuuming every day!”
Friend: “Ok… you are really excited about this vacuum…”
Call me crazy, but I’ve talked about it with my friends, family, colleagues (aka fellow bloggers) and even my #sarahsdreamers on Instagram. There is no containing my excitement. The best part about the cordless Dyson Cyclone V10 is that it’s the best vacuum for dust mite allergies that I’ve owned.
To get an idea of how allergic I am to dust mites, all my allergy tests say that I am off the charts allergic like off, off the charts. I slept over a family member’s place for ONE NIGHT, and despite their place being clean, I got bronchitis in ONE NIGHT ’cause little did they know creatures are invisible home to even the cleanest place. Whenever I get my allergy immunity shots for dust mites, I generally get a HUGE bump around the shot area about six inches in diameter. It’s no joke… and probably TMI. Oops!
Anyways, this cordless Dyson Cyclone V10 review isn’t only about it’s the best dust mite vacuum cleaner I’ve owned. It’s also about how this vacuum is a must for busy millennials living in a city (or a family living in the suburbs; really anyone, but I’ll be talking about its application in my own place).

Best Vacuum for Dust Mite Allergies
The big draw to the Dyson Cyclone V10 is its fade-free, powerful cordless feature, but I really love vacuuming without having to wear an allergy mask, sneezing within 30 seconds of starting, and avoiding the room after vacuuming. This Dyson claims to expel cleaner air than what it started out with, which I thought was a gimmick until I started using the vacuum. It doesn’t increase my allergies when vacuuming! As a result, I’ve been able to do majority of the vacuum myself instead of relying on Mike to vacuum
This almost allergen-free vacuuming is possible because of its whole-machine filtration system, which captures 99.7% of dust as small as 0.3 microns. Dust mite fecal matter is generally about 10 microns whereas typical dust mites are about 2-3 microns in size meaning the Dyson will capture the larger dust mites and dust mite fecal matter. Add this to your list of sexy dinner conversation starters.
Compared to the vacuum with HEPA filter that I owned for a year prior to the Dyson and other hardwood floor vacuums I owned, I can confidently say that this is the best vacuum cleaner for dust mites based on my personal reaction to vacuuming.
Light and Powerful for Daily Use
On top of my crazy dust mite allergies, I also have fibromyalgia, which makes vacuuming difficult because of the weight of our vacuum. Overall, I generally rely on Mike to vacuum, but since getting the Dyson Cyclone V10, I have been vacuuming daily! It’s so light and mobile that you can really use it daily and for quick clean-ups because it’s even easier than taking out a broom and dustpan.
As busy millennials who are working all day then out for dinner and drinks on the weekends, this has made cleaning super and easy and quick not having to do one big clean on the weekends and instead being able to maintain cleaning throughout the week without taking away much time from our day. My friend who is a mom to a toddler and owns her own chef business says that this too has minimized her time vacuuming as she now vacuums daily. It’s really great for anyone!
Versatile Use for Complete Cleaning
Besides using this vacuum daily since getting it and experiencing a super clean, dust-mite free home, I’ve been finding so many practical applications for it. Since it’s light, I can easily lift it up to grab cobwebs off the ceiling. By converting to a hand vacuum, we’ve been able to clean the couch and curtains, which we haven’t for awhile. This is a great way to suck out dust mites that have been hanging out in your upholstered furniture for quite some time!
I even used the hand vacuum to clean out crumbs from drawers in the kitchen. You know how crumbs annoyingly fall into your cutlery drawer? You can easily suck those babies up around your cutlery without having to move them. I did do this when my vacuum was new… sooo now that I’ve used the attachments, thinking that using this in my cutlery drawer might not be the cleanest thing to do…
Unboxing of Dyson Cyclone V10
I rarely do unboxing videos but because I was so excited about the Dyson Cyclone V10, I just had to. Here it is!
