Everything you see or hear about Paris on screen or in books is true. It’s romantic, artistic, and has a certain “Je ne sais quoi” that permeates the air wherever you go. Because of its timeless appeal, Paris is a great place to visit for charming photos. Check out these six beautiful Instagram-worthy places in Paris.
How to Get to Paris Easily
To take great photos in Paris, you need to get to the city first. Fortunately, that’s the easy part! As a major metropolitan city, there are endless ways to get to Paris from basically anywhere in Europe, such as taking a 2.5-hour train from London to Paris. The hardest part is deciding which of these beautiful Instagram-worthy places in Paris to visit first!
To get to these picturesque spots, take the Paris Metro to get around. It costs €1.90 for a single trip or €14.50 for a carnet, which is a packet of 10 tickets. If you need walking directions from the metro stops but you have limited data, make sure to download the offline version of Google Maps. That way you’ll spend more time taking photos than searching for your next turn.
Rue Crémieux – 12th Arrondissement

Rue Crémieux is the most colorful street you’ll find in Paris. It’s also one of the few pedestrian streets with cobblestones from end to end. There’s no exact reason why these houses are so colorful except that the residents wanted to have an oasis of tranquility within the hustle and bustle of this big city. Please respect the residents’ homes and privacy when visiting!
How to Get There: Get to Rue Crémieux (Google Maps) via Gare de Lyon on Line 1 or Quai de la Râpée on Line 5.
Spiral Staircase at the National Museum of Gustave Moreau – 9th Arrondissement

Dedicated to the symbolist painter Gustave Moreau, this museum houses approximately 1,200 paintings and almost 5,000 drawings. It also includes the apartment where he once lived and worked, as well as this magnificent spiral staircase.
How to Get There: Get to the National Museum of Gustave Moreau (Google Maps) via Saint-Georges or Trinité on Line 12.
Canal Saint-Martin – 10th Arrondissement

Canal Saint-Martin is a 2.8-mile (4.5-km) tree-lined canal in the 10th arrondissement. It’s a hip district in Paris so after work or on weekends, you can find lively groups of friends enjoying the scenic canal with picnics of wine and cheese.
How to Get There: Get to Canal Saint-Martin (Google Maps) via Jaurès on Line 2, 5, or 7B or République or Goncourt/Hôpital St. Louis on Line 11.
Butte-Aux-Cailles Neighborhood— 13th Arrondissement

Butte-Aux-Cailles is the only neighborhood in Paris that’s completely lined with cobblestone streets and untouched by modern commercialism. There’s old-world charm around every corner, which makes you feel like you’re miles away from the hustle and bustle of Paris.
How to Get There: Get to Butte-Aux-Cailles (Google Maps) via Place d’Italie on Line 5, 6, or 7.

Chemin de Fer de Petite Ceinture – 13th Arrondissement

The Chemin de Fer de Petite Ceinture is an abandoned railway circling the city of Paris. It once connected the city’s major railway stations. Now, this 20-mile (32-km) railway sits unassumingly around the city as greenery and wildflowers overtake its iron structure.
Since this railway was previously closed off to the public, people used to sneak into it through hidden openings. More recently, the city converted a few areas of the railway into public parks.
How to Get There: There are several spots along the Chemin de Fer de Petite Ceinture open to the public. For the location in the 13th Arrondissement (Google Maps), head to Maison Blanche on Line 7.
It’s a bit out of the way from normal tourist activities so I consider this one of the unusual things to do in Paris.
Eiffel Tower from le Pont de Bir-Hakeim – Between the 15th and 16th Arrondissement

A trip to Paris isn’t complete without at least one photo of the iconic Eiffel Tower. To beat the crowds and get a different vantage point of this wrought-iron tower, head to le Pont de Bir-Hakeim. Many brides go here for photos on their wedding day because it’s that special.
How to Get There: Get to the le Pont de Bir-Hakeim (Google Maps) via Bir-Hakeim or Passy on Line 6.
This list barely scratches the surface of beautiful Instagram-worthy places in Paris, but it’s a start. Now that you have a solid baseline of where to go, grab your camera and head to Paris!
Thanks for stopping by! xo.

Who doesn’t love a good public park with an abandoned railway running through it. I honestly think it’s just so hard to take bad pictures in Paris. Picturesque, historic, beautiful. Can’t say enough about that city and but need to get back there soon.

Most of these fabulous spots I seem to have missed on my last couple of trips through Paris – shows that it’s such a diverse city with so many amazing things to see and do! I would LOVE to get to Chemin de fer de petite ceinture – I hadn’t heard of it before, but wow it looks so fascinating, and such amazing photo opportunities!

Paris is definitely one of the most Instagram-worthy places I have visited! I love the variety of pictures you picked from famous sites to everyday locations, inside and outside shots and pictures taken from different times of the day. The spiral staircase at the National Museum of Gustave Moreau is especially lovely. One of the many museums I need to add to my list of places to visit when I head to Paris again.
