I always knew that New York had an abundance of art and music overfilling the streets and subways, but it wasn’t until I moved away that I truly appreciated how much soul and creativity this city holds, especially in the Bushwick street art. There’s emotion and fluid lines of expression within the seemingly endless panels of vivid colors.
The Bushwick graffiti neighborhood is now the place to go for stunning street art ever since, sadly, 5Pointz, the world’s former premier graffiti mecca, was painted over in one night on November 19, 2014. Here’s where to see street art and graffiti in Bushwick, including an exact map of the Bushwick Collective art.

Must-Eat at Restaurant Before Your Bushwick Street Art Walk
Before you go on your hunt for jaw dropping Bushwick graffiti and street art, I highly recommend starting out with a yummy pizza lunch at Roberta’s since it’s right outside the subway and around the corner from all the street art.
It’s my favorite pizza place in New York City! Besides pizza, everything they serve is delicious from their salads to cocktails.
To get to Roberta’s, take the L to the Morgan stop. Then after lunch, use my Google map below (with a printable PDF) to walk over to the Jefferson stop, which is the exact way I took to see the street art.
Address: Roberta’s, 261 Moore St, Brooklyn, NY 11206, USA

Street Art on the Walk Towards the Bushwick Collective
After eating at Roberta’s on your way to the Bushwick Collective street art area, you’ll random pieces of street art along the way as this whole neighborhood has tons of murals everywhere.

I was lucky to see a graffiti artist, Remy, in action. We chatted a bit, and I learned that he was adding onto an art piece he had worked on the year before. It was cool to see the evolution of his artwork as well as all the colors of spray paint he had!
Graffiti at the Bushwick Collective
Once you arrive at the Bushwick Collective, you will find tons and tons of beautiful murals. There are many different types of art from murals of the iconic Biggie Smalls to colorful, melt-your-face type ones like the above.

These murals photographed are just a small portion of what you can expect to see in Bushwick, and of course, if you see these in person, the photos don’t do it justice so it’ll be like seeing it for the first time.
The grandiosity of each mural and sheer volume of them will surely amaze you too.

How to Get to the Main Bushwick Graffiti Area

This little piece of Bushwick is a lovely way to spend a FREE afternoon in New York City, which doesn’t come by too often. Here’s a Bushwick street art map so you can walk exactly where I did.
The enclosed area is the Bushwick Collective section you’re probably looking for, but the other lines indicate random pops of street art.
A big thank you the Bushwick Collective, a 501c3 non profit organization, who’s brought together graffiti artists and street art projects from all over the world to share their incredible talents and eye for beauty.

P.S. I totally understand the awkwardness that comes with taking certain photos, but it’s worth it in the end, right? 😉

We love street art as you will see from our ‘comment luv’ gallery. These photos are really great – makes us want to hightail it back to NY City – but I guess that won’t happen anytime soon.
